Mull It Over 039: Cool Gig Guide - December '24
Your guide to the coolest gigs happening in Belfast and beyond for December 2024. Featuring And So I Watch You From Afar and Pillow Queens.
What’s cooler than being cool? Checking out the Mull It Over Cool Gig Guide where each month you will find a list of the coolest gigs happening in and around Belfast, expertly curated by me - mainly as a vehicle to show off (for this month at least) my attempts at capturing the Gen X Soft Club aesthetic (learned about through the brilliantly nostalgic Brit Cult Instagram page) on Apple Preview. It just feels like 2001, doesn’t it?
Your music pairing
Your music pairing this month marks an intentional shift. After running out of songs with the word ‘cool’ in the title after about three months (didn’t think it through), I’ve decided to instead provide a window into my sophisticated and considered listening habits around the time of publishing. So, after binging on the brilliantly wonderful, sad, fun and eye-opening documentary Boybands Forever last week on BBC iPlayer, wrap your ears around this definitive piece of classical composing. The best song ever to feature the words ‘taxi-cab’, and I won’t countenance any arguments that suggest otherwise.
