Mull It Over 019: The Single File
It's Bandcamp Friday, so here's ten essential releases from Northern Ireland to soundtrack your weekend. Featuring Beauty Sleep and Winnie Ama.
Happy Bandcamp Friday! To celebrate, I have plucked ten of the best releases from Northern Irish based artists from the past month or so. As ever, I have included direct links to the tracks on the artists’ Bandcamp pages. Where this is not available, you can find them through the Spotify link and the official Mull It Over playlist at the bottom of the page.
Welcome, also, new subscribers and old to the 19th edition of the newsletter! This has been one of those rare things: a New Year’s resolution that stuck. This, and attempting to read a book a month in 2024. You will notice the introduction this week to The Single File is short on prose and gags as I am falling behind on April’s choice: Don DeLillo’s outstanding Libra. Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential awaits.
And with this being the 19th issue of Mull It Over, I thought I would do something fun for the 20th. It’s a rather arbitrary milestone but a milestone nonetheless. So keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for something very exciting coming around the time of Mull It Over: 020. We’re headed east.
Anyway, here’s ten of the best from April. Enjoy!
Winnie Ama - Tangled
bobsled team - All The Flowers Bloom
Beauty Sleep - BIG + BAD
KNEECAP - Love Making ft. Nino
Esmerelda Road - I think
Connor McCann - Without Wax
beat up car - you need help (but you have to want it)
Gareth Dunlop - Go Down Swinging
arborist - An Endless Sequence of Dead Zeros
GUSH - Dilemma (Joe’s Song)
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter. Some truly fantastic tunes to be enjoyed this month. Please subscribe and share as it really helps get the word out. See you next week for some exciting news. Happy Friday everybody!
